It is becoming increasingly common for individuals and organizations to focus on security and access control to their properties. From individual residents to larger communities, townhouses, clubs and other establishments, reliable and effective security is a high priority. Put simply, people are becoming increasingly concerned with who is accessing their property, and in many cases, controlling that access. The most popular solution is that of a gate control system which is able to allow and refuse access to people and vehicles to a property, community or other establishment.

The peace of mind that residents inside a gated community or other facility results from the fact that they feel a heightened sense of security as well as often being pleased there will be decreased traffic flow through the area. However, gated communities are not without their issues at times, as there have been occurrences when even the residents themselves have experienced mild problems when it comes to entering due to an occasionally erroneous manual process. Other potential complains may include the time consuming issues of having to remember passwords or due to the use of logbooks and other paperwork.

Some of the risks involved in older gate security technology include the possible ability for visitors to enter through the gate illegally by using remote controls, thus allowing unauthorized vehicles to pass through without gaining the attention of anyone. This opens up the risk of burglars and other criminals to enter gated communities without permission. RFID technology, however, has reduced these risks significantly to the point of eliminating them completely.

How is RFID able to eliminate the previous loopholes of older gate security technology? RFID tags are where the answers are. Each vehicle is provided with a tag that contains all of the important details of that particular car. This enables the car to be monitored via the use of the tag, and can allow access to the vehicle through the gates. This adds a considerable element of security as well as peace of mind to all residents inside the gated community. Additional benefits of the RFID technology include convenience and time saving, as it is all automated and requires no paperwork or logbooks.

RFID based gate technology deters criminals and unauthorized people from attempting to access areas where they are not meant to be as they will be easily seen and identified. An alarm or signal is immediately sent out if there is any forced or illegal entry to any establishment which is fitted with RFID gate security technology.

It is little wonder, with all of these benefits and enhanced security capabilities, that RFID technology is continuing to gain popularity.
